I hope this message finds you well and you had a wonderful Spring Break with family and friends.
On March 28th and 29th, 2019 we have an opportunity to help a number of Marching Chiefs reach their goal of going to Normandy France for the 75th anniversary of D-Day Invasion. The Chiefs will be representing not only FSU and the State of Florida, but also representing the United States on this amazing celebration.
If you haven’t seen Dr. Patrick Dunnigan’s Facebook page, he’s received a number of messages from students telling him it will be difficult for them to participate in the event due to overall cost to participate and may have to drop out of the trip altogether. The average cost per student is $3500.
This is where the Marching Chiefs Alumni come in. During this year’s Great Give one of the projects from the College of Music is the Marching Chiefs 75th D-Day Normandy fund. We would like as many Alumni as possible to give so these students the opportunity to attend. Our Board will be posting links for the Great Give as the event draws closer, but I am asking if you have never participated in this event please do so.
No amount is too small. Every dollar raised goes to an amazing adventure, so let’s get as many of our Marching Chiefs to Normandy as we can. The goal is to try to raise $75,000 dollars as there is an anonymous donor that will match all money raised during the Great Give, up to $75,000!!

There are also numerous incentives offered during specific windows during the great give. We have done very well in the past, winning several of the bonus awards.
This year, we are targeting the $3000 bonus for the Final Sunset, given for the most dollars raised during the final 2 hours of the Great Give on Friday March 29, 7 PM – 9 PM EDT.
If we are fortunate again this year, with your generous assistance, we will be in contention for the $3500 Seminole Spirit Award given for the most DOLLARS raised during the 36 hour Great Give event.
