Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I have a couple of messages I need to relay to you.
First, congratulations to Michael Resnick, and Keva Dallas for retaining their positions on the board, and we welcome Hannah Pucciarelli and Troy Mahler to the board. I look forward to working with all of you and expanding on our great work. I have been confirmed as your Executive Director for another 3-year term. During this term, I plan on working even harder to promote our MCA brand and find my replacement.
Second, with FSU canceling classes for the remainder of the week and the FSU Alumni Association canceling all Homecoming events through Sunday, we will not be having our MCA Homecoming this year.
What does this mean? We are working with FSU on how we will proceed with having Homecoming at the 2023 Spring Game. Do we have answers today? No. FSU and the MCA are in the infant stages of planning how to handle this. As we get answers during the week we will let you know.
I understand that a majority of us are disappointed that this happened. I am as well, but with a major weather event that’s about to impact our state, it is best to err on the side of caution and not put the public and alumni in danger. I agree with FSU completely.
